Getting Ready -- Tip Number One

OK. You've done it. You've decided that you're going to go for it. You know you have a chance to win Shirley's "60 Years of Sexy" Contest, change your life and enter the ranks of top models nationally. But, to enter you need to submit four recent photographs of yourself.
So, now what?
The first step is to understand what Shirley of Hollywood is looking for in its next star model. The easiest way to understand that is to look at the company's current models. Study the pages in this website. Many of the models featured are Shirley of Hollywood models. In fact, because we always disclose the manufacturer of our sexy lingerie, you can tell if the model is one of Shirley's because the company is listed next to the product.
For both Missy and Plus Sizes, you'll notice that not all the models are classically beautiful. But they all have that certain "something," an air of comfort about themselves, a fresh and natural look, a sense of pride in themselves. (Not to be confused with the arrogance you sometimes see on catwalks.) When you look at these models, you have the strongest sense that they're really enjoying themselves and the sexy lingerie they're modeling.
That's what Shirley is looking for.
So how do you achieve it?
First, take inventory. Stand in front of the mirror. Are there any small areas that could use toning? Notice that all Shirley of Hollywood models, Missy and Plus sizes, are toned and fit. It has nothing to do with weight and everything to do with muscle tone. So, if you have an area in your arms, legs or butt that needs a little work, hit the gym and give those muscles a workout.
Second, notice their skin. All of Shirley's models have beautiful skin, fresh and glowing, natural. Makeup, no matter how professionally applied, can't give you this kind of luminous skin. So, you might want to review your moisturing routines. Don't worry about make-up for now. We'll give you tips on this later on. For now, concentrate on the basics. And, remember your goal. With a little effort, you can win.
Entries aren't due until August! You have plenty of time to tone and firm, to work on your skin. Although Shirley of Hollywood isn't looking for professional models, you want to be the best you can be.
So, study Shirley's current models, take inventory and be honest. If you need a little firming and toning or need to change your skin beautification routines, do it now. There's plenty of time, but the clock is ticking.
